This week · Learning by watching
The things you can't learn from a manual
So I'm going to show you instead
Issue 06  ·  4 October 2026

Hi lovely,

Over the past few months, something has changed in my inbox. Alongside the usual booking enquiries, I've started getting messages from other therapists.

“What was that move?”
“How do you do that?”
“Where did you learn your facial massage?”

For a while I'd reply with a long voice note trying to describe a movement with words, which, as you can imagine, doesn't really work. You can't explain rhythm in a DM.

So I thought… why not just show you?

What I've learnt about learning

After 20+ years in this industry, training with brands like Elemis and Dermalogica and working my way to Master Facialist, here's something nobody really tells you:

Some of the biggest shifts in my work didn't come from a certificate.

They came from watching. Standing in the corner of a treatment room seeing how another therapist moved, how they got from the shoulders to the neck without breaking contact, how they slowed down at exactly the right moment. Little things you'd never find in a manual.

Courses are brilliant, and I'll always believe in proper training. But sometimes you don't need another qualification. You've got the foundations. What you need is fresh eyes on how someone else puts it all together.

That's what I've built over the years: my own style of massage. The movements, the transitions, the rhythm, the flow. And for the first time, I'm opening the door.

Book your place

Join me live online while I work through my signature massage. This isn't about changing the way you work. It's about watching another therapist and taking away whatever feels right for your hands and your clients.

Because here's the thing I've seen time and time again: facial massage is what takes a treatment from good to exceptional.

Clients might book for the products or the results, but it's the way a treatment feels that brings them back. The pressure, the pace, the moment they completely let go.
That's what they remember, and that's what has them rebooking before they've even left the room.

We're two weeks out, so if you've been meaning to book, now's the time. Book your place here.

A tip to try this week
Keep one hand on them.
On your next treatment, pay attention to the moments your hands leave the skin. Most of us lose contact between areas without noticing, and that's when a client drifts out of relaxation.
Try keeping one hand on them as you move from one section to the next. It's a small change, but clients feel the difference, even if they can't tell you why.

Until next week

If you've ever messaged me asking about a move, this one's for you. I'd genuinely love to see you there.

And if a massage masterclass isn't for you right now, no worries at all. I'll be back next week as usual.
